Applying New Data to
Refine the Management of
Retinal Venous Occlusion

The goal of this activity is to introduce physicians to the latest clinical trial
results from two phase 3 studies of antivascular endothelial growth factor
(anti-VEGF) in macular edema secondary to CRVO and BRVO. Recently, the
intravitreal dexamethasone implant (Ozurdex, Allergan, Inc) was approved by
the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of macular edema secondary
to BRVO and CRVO. This recent approval was based on two multicenter,
double-masked, randomized, parallel studies. Study one included 403
patients and study two included 450 patients.
